There have always been several ways to get people to beat a path to your door. A better mouse trap approach, a new idea or hard work and top quality in your field.
The later of the three is guaranteed to work....sooner or later. So long as you produce a quality service or product, in the best interest of your buyer, you can not fail. I have seen it time and time again in my life that someone finds the easy way, skips the required steps and is all of a sudden riding the high wave of success. Passing all those hard working individuals that are trying their best to build what they believe to be a productive, long term, honest business from the ground up with hard work and good planning. The bulk, most of, those that find the easy way and climb to the top in a hurry, also fall on their faces down the road and end up on their ass because they didn't build their business on good honest principles. Quality product and service. Those that do survive, do so because they change their bad habits soon enough.
It is so simple to surpass your competition if you just remember these two simple principles. Always produce a quality product/service and provide quality service on it. If something goes wrong with your product or service, stand up and accept the responsibility to correct the problem. This holds true for those problems that the buyer does not recognize. If you see that something isn't correct, make it right for your own sake. You not only owe it to the customer, you owe it to your self to produce a quality product and service it correctly.
When I was in the construction business and sub contracting out work, a sub contractor would come to me and say..."the homeowner loves it". I always told them not to worry about what the homeowner loves or doesn't love. You're out there to please me. You have to live up to my standards and in most cases they will far exceed the homeowners. The homeowners are not in the building business, I am. It never took very long for those that worked for me to understand that if it wasn't right, regardless if the homeowner or client thought it was fine, I was going to make them tear it out and redo it if necessary.
I will apply the same principles to my web business’s. Regardless of what product or service that I end up marketing, it will come up to my standards of excellence. By following these simple rules, and believing in them, sooner or later, you can't fail:)

Spring has Sprung !!
It actually got near sixty degrees here today. I'm in Michigan and summer here is just a shoulder season. As I've grown older, my "hate" of winter has deepened to the point that I have Florida on my mind most of the time.
I long for the day when I can pull up stakes and move to the land of sunshine and oranges. I figure two years. By then I will be making $100 a day from my Interent interprises and be able to sit back and coast. Although if you talked to anyone that knows me, they would tell you I have been coasting for years now.
I opened the back up site "backlowpain.com" this past week and am now starting to build backlinks for it. I also opened another site where I intend to market a product called Herpaflor through the ShareaSale Network. I am about 90% done on the building of that site. Doing things a little differently with this one however. I'm not exposing it to the Search Engines until it is completely built and I have backlinks established to it. I'm going to purchase 100 backlinks for the site. They are all PR0 blog sites but the cost is dirt cheap to get them. There are two views of thought on buying links. Google frowns upon it, no doubt. On the other hand I've come to the conclusion that the key to being successful marketing on the Internet is all about backlinks and traffic. Traffic begins with backlinks. I'll take the 100 and use them as filler, then build some quality BL's on my own.
This "industry" if you can call it that, is filled with people selling information on how to. Everyone and their brother has a "program" you can purchase to show you how to make money on the Internet. In order to get you to purchase that program they flaunt their successful sites and do tell you how they did it. Find a product, build a site, collect your profits. What none of them do is tell you how they started the site on Monday and had 285 backlinks by the following Friday.
It's all about SEO and 80% of SEO is "quality backlinks". Quality backlinks from sites with strong page ranks is what gets you up the ladder in Google. So, that is what I need to master. If I can become an expert at building quality backlinks, everything else will fall into place.

Finally some Traffic
I opened my fourth site this week. None of the four sites is completly built. The first site, a dating service review site, looks the best and it could generate profit, but has no traffic as of yet. Very competitive market that I can see will take a couple of years to build into a profitable venture.
My second site is an Amazon eStore. I'm bucking a stacked deck on that idea also. Getting traffic to an eStore that is nothing more than a copy of a small portion of what Amazon carries is again going to be an SEO nightmare. Even if I get the traffic built up, I won't be able to hold it.
My third site, has some traffic. I'm getting 6 to 10 visits per day. It is a review site for a good product. But the traffic is the result of using the products name in my URL. I can see them taking the site from me ddown the road because I've used their trademark name in my domain name.
I've opened another site in that same niche and will concentrate more efforts on it. Meantime I'll run links from the site that is getting that little bit of traffic to the other and vice versa. As both sites are for the same products, it will at least help me build links.
I registered yet another domain today in that same niche, but even more focused. I'll open that site up within a couple weeks and then feed it with links from the other two.
Meantime, I'm getting a better handle on Wordpress. I can see where I have to master Expression Web however if I want to build more professional looking sites. Wordpress is very good for blog type sites, and you can make it work well for regular web sites. But, long haul, the Expression Web is going to be the better program to have a complete grasp of. If I master Expression Web, it will make my Wordpress sites all the better for it.
On my way, but this isn't going to be a short journey to success. As my knowledge grows, the "box" I think within expands. When I can step outside that box and be comfortable in doing so, I will be in the position to make more than a living on the Web.

Another Day, Another Dollar
For the past three months I have been wadding through all the information on the Internet on how to open a website and make money. And after three months I've come to the conclusion that 95% of those that are making money on the Internet are doing so trying to sell me something on how to do it. J It reminds me of a shoe salesman pushing me to buy socks after I've found my shoes.
You would think that with thirty plus years of running my own company and working for myself I would have an "edge" on how to market a product or service on the Internet. So would I. But, for some reason or another I've been unable to zero in on that one niche that makes me have that warm fuzzy feeling.
I have set up my first site recently. A dating service referral site. Reason being that should it become successful the profit potential is strong. Add to that, I have some experience in the field from my younger years working for a dating service as a counselor. The romantic in me would actually get a big bang out of helping people find that special someone in their lives. You see, I’ve been very fortunate to be married to the same woman for over coming up on forty two years now.
However, as I knew going into it, it is going to take a long time to work my way to the top of the search engines in this heavy competition category. My mind set was that if I’m going to pay the price to learn to be a webmaster, I may as well learn while working on something that should pay off well in the end. We shall see. At this point, although the site is up and running it isn’t completely built and I have yet to do any SEO work on it either. And, may I add, no one has yet Stumble Upon itJ
My next site has to be something that will turn some profit rather quickly. I’ve opted for a retail / review site. At present I am doing research for an actual product which I will then do a review on and set a web site up just for that product. I have registered with Amazon as an Affiliate and will be looking at products I can market of theirs.
I have several other “ideas” that I am working on also. The two “major” sites I hope to have up and running strongly within two years are a exlusive products site and to enter into the “show you how to do it on the Internet” field. Seems that anyone that is successful and learns how to make a buck on the Internet ends up selling that information or at least trying to.
Hopefully, one day, I too will be able to point to this blog as the record of my tremendously successful starting point……we shall see.

The Road to Success
All journeys begin with a first step. You trip, you fall down, you get up and move on and eventually you arrive at the destination you have set your eyes upon. This is just such a journey and the record thereof.
